Penanggalan for day 12 of #drawlloween2017

A penanggalan is a variation of vampire in Malaysian folklore.

It's a detached, flying, female head with it's internal organs dangling below. It's said that penanggalans are typically midwives who have made a pact with the devil for beauty, but were unable to hold up their end of the bargain; they must not eat meat for 40 days.

Once they break this pact they are cursed. Their heads and entrails will detach from their bodies at night and they must hunt and feed, traditionally preying on pregnant women and babies.
